Coco Bongo Cancun is a disco with a unique concept. It is the only club where I have seen a circus concept. They alternate acts with music from different eras. Personally, it is one of the clubs where I have had the best time at Cancun Nightlife.
Coco Bongo Cancun Show and Disco
There are many things that must be said about this club. Although there is a Coco Bongo in Playa del Carmen, the Dominican Republic and Los Cabos, each of them is different.
Coco Bongo Cancun Shows
It would sound a lie, the shows at the club change just a little bit every night. Just a little bit. But they alternate one or another act. The disco opens the doors at 22:30. But, the Coco Bongo show starts at 23:00 with an act by the Beatles or the Phantom of the Opera. From then on, these are the shows I remember:
- Brazilian Carnival
- Madonna
- Beatle Juice
- Michael Jackson
- Batman
- Spider-Man
- Moulin Rouge
- The 300
- Thron
- The Mask
- Star Wars
- Queen
- Guns n ‘Roses
And they always take temporary shows when there is a Global Event. They had the World Cup show, Pokémon show, among others.
Prices
Coco Bongo Cancun prices vary from the place you book. In fact, it’s interesting that booking on the official website, CocoBongo.com, costs $70USD, is more expensive! Even though, you can find the entrance in other websites for approximately $60 USD. I recommend CancunRivieraMaya.com. Unless you book a table, I do not recommend using the official website. All the entrance prices include drinks already. There is no “cover” available.
Of course, book it online. Otherwise, directly at the disco costs $80 USD.
Dress Code
The Coco Bongo dress code is Casual or Cocktail. But most people are very well dressed. You will find very beautiful people.
Coco Bongo Cancun Review
Personally, I think it’s a very fun nightclub. I have been there single and with a partner. And, I always have had a great time. If you are a person who likes “a little bit of everything”, and parties with Entertainment Staff, Coco Bongo is for you.
However, in the last years, they have been overselling tickets. So, in high season, it is recommended to arrive from 21:30 to enter. Otherwise, they do not respect your ticket, as it is already packed. Outside waiting for 1 hour, inside packed.
This is just to prepare you. Anyway, it is an activity that I personally like and recommend, if you have varied and lively tastes.
